Be your own jeweller: Learn how to create a sterling silver ring

Are you looking for a fun and creative activity to do in East Yorkshire? Why not book a jewellery making course and learn how to create your very own sterling silver ring!

Jewellery making is a relaxing and satisfying hobby that allows you to explore your artistic side and create beautiful pieces of wearable art.

One of my most popular jewellery making classes is creating a sterling silver ring. Sterling silver is a high-quality, durable metal that is perfect for making jewellery. This is perfect for beginners and with the right tools and techniques, you can easily create a stunning ring, unique to you!

During a jewellery making workshop, you will learn how to cut, solder and shape silver to create the ring and how to add texture to really personalise your creation. I have 4 ring making classes to chose from -

Stacking Rings

This has been my most popular class since I started teaching - you can't go wrong with a lovely set of stacking rings! In this class we make 3 silver rings and you can add texture with hammers to the bands to personalise them. The hammering is a great stress reliever if it's been a long week!

Silver Pebble Stacking Ring

In this class we create a slim ring band with a recycled silver pebble. You get to experiment with melting silver which is very satisfying when you do it on purpose (not so much if its an accident!) and you'll learn how to do multiple joins on one piece to attach your pebble to your ring band. This is a nice little taster class if you just want to have a go.

Make a Silver Ring

This class is for you if you prefer a wider ring band. There is a bit more room to get creative with some of my design and letter stamps or you can go for an overall texture like the picture. Also more appealing to the boys if you want a cute date activity!

Wax Carve a Ring

For something completely different, why not give wax carving a go? We create a ring our of jewellers modelling wax during the lesson which is then sent off to be cast in to solid silver. When it comes back, I give it a polish and sent it on to you. This is perfect if you want a truly one of a kind ring and lends itself well to both geometric and more organic designs.

You can learn a bit more about wax carving in this blog post:

Not only is jewellery making a fun and creative activity, but it also allows you to learn a new skill and gain a sense of accomplishment. Whether you are looking for a unique birthday party activity or simply want to try something new, a jewellery making course is the perfect way to spend your time.

So why wait? Be your own jeweller for a day and book a jewellery making course today! Unleash your creativity, learn a new skill, and create a beautiful sterling silver ring that you can cherish for years to come. Who knows, you might just discover a new passion along the way!
