A New Location for Teaching

Exciting news! From August, I’ll be a guest tutor at Silver and Stone Jewellery Studios in Ricall. Run by the fabulous Helen Drye, it’s an amazing space in such a beautiful location. I’ll be running my Tube Ring Class, a Beginners Wax Carving class and an Introduction to Jewellery Making weekend!

A collection of jewellery making tools, the image shows a rawhide hammer, a metal mandrel with a silver ring on, a hammer and a pair of files. There is also a part made ring.

The dates for the classes are:

August – Sunday 13th August - Tube Set Sparkly Gem Ring

Did you miss out on this class when I ran it in Pocklington? Here’s another chance to create a tube set stacking ring. It’s a beautiful way to set stones and add a bit of sparkle to your ring stack.

September – Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th September 10-4pm – Introduction to Silver Jewellery.

Spend the whole weekend with me– you lucky people! Over the two days we will be making a ring, a bangle and learning how to bezel set a stone for a pendant.

October – Sunday 8th October 10-2 – Carve a Wax Ring– Beginners Wax Carving Session.

I can already hear you asking why on earth would you want a piece of jewellery made from wax. It is actually an ancient technique and you can create wonderful organic or sculptural pieces. A mould is made from your wax and then that is filled with silver to create your ring. Find out a bit more on this blog post…. You can book these directly through Helens website. Hope to see you on one soon!

Is there any techniques you’d like to learn? Get in touch, you never know it might be in the works already or we could chat about private tuition.
